A home is where you live.
I think it is interesting that in our family there are clusters. C and I have not bought. We rent. And we rent in more urban areas than J and Chou (didn't know how to give you a codename). M has bought a place "in the city." I was thinking that perhaps C and I prefer the city because we lived in one the longest.
I'm always surprised when I think about that. I remember living in Worcester quite vividly but who else does?

re. Home is Oxford.
For me, this is true, too. Home is Oxford in some ways, but home is Boston is some ways because Oxford is too nowhere to someone from Puyallup, WA.
I have a lot of fond memories of Oxford and 101, specifically. I also have some bad memories.
Where we live now isn't particularly urban. We don't live near the "village" part of Issaquah and I miss that. I miss walking to the brew pub and walking to the library.
But the kids can walk to their friends house ride there bikes in the neighborhood. They can go to a couple of different parks. The "safety" factor is important to me right now.
But also, it provides the kids with some independence and it means a lot less "playdate" driving. I liked that about even 101. We could find things to do.
